Delivery executives
What this is for
A delivery executive is a driver. They get their own login to a delivery app — not the back office — where they see their jobs and move them along.
They're separate from staff members on purpose. A driver has no business in your menu, your prices or your reports, and this keeps that boundary clean without you having to build a restrictive role.
Adding one
- Go to Delivery Executives.
- Select add.
- Enter their name, email, phone and a starting password.
- Save.
They can now sign in to the delivery portal. See The delivery app.
Assigning an order
From a delivery order, choose Select Delivery Executive.
Only executives who are online are offered. If a driver you expect isn't in the list, they haven't signed in or have marked themselves offline — that's the answer nearly every time.
That behaviour is deliberate. Assigning an order to someone who isn't working means it sits unmoved, and nobody notices until the customer rings.
Online and offline
Drivers set their own availability from their app. It's how you see who's actually working right now rather than who's on the rota.
Get them into the habit of going offline at the end of a shift. A driver who forgets stays assignable, and the next order goes to someone who's already gone home.

Cash
If the order is being paid on delivery, the driver collects, and that money has to come back and be accounted for. That's its own workflow — see Cash on delivery and settlements.
Managing drivers over time
- Edit their details from the same screen.
- Deactivate rather than delete when someone leaves. Their name stays attached to the deliveries they made, which is what you want if a question comes up later.
- Permissions to create, view, update and delete executives are role-controlled — see What each role can do.
Good to know
- Delivery executives belong to a branch. Someone covering two locations needs access to both.
- They sign in to the delivery portal, not the back office. The main sign-in page won't work for them, and that confuses people on day one — tell them the right address.
- One order, one executive. To hand a job over, reassign it.
- Executives don't appear in your staff list. Look for them under Delivery Executives.
