The delivery app

What this is for

This page is for drivers, and for whoever trains them. It's the whole job in one screen.

The delivery portal opens in a phone browser. There's nothing to install.

Signing in

Use the address your restaurant gives you, with the email and password they set up.

It is not the same address as the restaurant's main sign-in. If you're being told your details are wrong, check you're on the right page first.

Going online

Mark yourself online when you start. Orders can only be assigned to drivers who are online — if you're offline, work goes to someone else.

Go offline at the end of your shift. Otherwise jobs keep arriving after you've gone home.

Your jobs

Assigned Orders lists what's yours right now. Empty means nothing is assigned yet, and says so rather than looking broken.

Open a job to see:

  • The order details — what's in the bag.
  • The customer — name and phone.
  • The address, with Open Navigation to hand it to your maps app.
  • Whether there's money to collect.

Delivery History holds everything you've already done.

Moving a job along

Four taps over the course of a delivery:

StepTap it when
Picked UpYou've taken the food from the restaurant.
Out for DeliveryYou're on the road.
Reached at DestinationYou're at the address.
DeliveredIt's in the customer's hands.

Update as you go, not all at the end. The restaurant and the customer both watch these, and a batch of updates at the end of a run tells them nothing while it matters.

Collecting cash

Some orders are paid already; some aren't. The app tells you which.

If money is owed you'll see Cash on Delivery with a Due Amount and the instruction to collect this due amount before marking the order delivered.

Before you can mark it delivered, you're asked to confirm:

Did you collect the due amount of £32.50 from the customer?

Answer honestly. Not yet is a real option and it's better than a wrong yes — the amount stays outstanding against the order and gets sorted out rather than silently disappearing.

If the customer already paid online, the app says so — "Amount of this order has been paid by the customer" — and there's nothing to collect.

At the end of your shift

Cash you've collected gets handed back and reconciled. That's the settlement process — see Cash on delivery and settlements.

Practical advice for drivers

  • Check the address before you leave. Open navigation at the restaurant, not at a junction.
  • Ring rather than guess. The customer's number is on the job.
  • Mark reached when you arrive, even if nobody answers. It records that you got there.
  • Don't mark delivered early. It closes the order and, on a cash job, says you took the money.
  • Keep your phone charged. The job list is the job.

Good to know

  • The app works in any phone browser. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app.
  • You see your own assigned orders — not the whole restaurant's.
  • Delivery executives have no access to the back office. That's by design.
  • A poor signal doesn't lose your work; update again when you have bars.
