Signing in for the first time

What this is for

Getting you into Restodesk. Your restaurant has its own web address and its own set of logins — one per person, never a shared account.

Your web address

Most restaurants get their own address, which looks like this:

yourrestaurant.restodesk.io

Add /login to go straight to the sign-in screen. Bookmark it on every device you use — the till, the office computer, your phone.

Some setups use one shared address instead, and you pick your restaurant after signing in. If that's you, the address will have been given to you when your account was set up. Either way it works the same from here.

Signing in

  1. Open your web address.
  2. Enter the email address your account was created with.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Select Sign In.

Where you land depends on your role. An owner or manager lands on the dashboard; someone whose job is taking orders may go straight to the POS.

If you can't get in

Forgot your password — select Forgot Password on the sign-in screen and enter your email. You'll get a reset link. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes.

Forgot which address is yours — there's a Forgot Restaurant link on the sign-in page. Enter your email and you'll be sent a reminder of the address to use.

"These credentials do not match our records" — the email is right but the password isn't, or the email isn't registered here at all. Try the reset link. If that says your email is unknown, your account was created with a different address, or hasn't been created yet. Ask whoever administers your Restodesk.

Good to know

  • Don't share a login. Restodesk records who did what — who took the order, who applied the discount, who processed the refund. A shared account destroys that, and it's exactly the information you want when something goes wrong.
  • Signing out clears your stored settings. That's occasionally useful: if you changed your currency or date format and the old one is still showing, sign out and back in.
  • Staying signed in on the till is fine. The POS is meant to stay open through service.
  • If your restaurant has more than one branch, you'll pick which branch you're working in after signing in, and you can switch at any time. See Adding branches.
