Creating a menu
What this is for
A menu is the top-level collection your categories and items sit inside. Most restaurants need one.
Adding a menu
- Go to Menu › Menus.
- Select Add Menu.
- Enter a Menu Name.
- Save.
That's the whole thing. A menu is just a named container — the work is in the categories and items inside it.
When you need more than one
Add a second menu when you genuinely sell a different list of dishes, not merely different prices or hours:
- A brunch menu that only runs at weekends.
- A bar menu that's different from the restaurant menu.
- A separate list for a function room or terrace.
If it's the same food all day, one menu is right. More menus means more places to update when a price changes.
Assigning a menu to a table
If you run different menus in different parts of the room, you can tie a menu to specific tables, so a guest scanning the QR code on the terrace sees the terrace menu.
- Go to Menu › Menu Items.
- Select Assign Menu to Table.
- Pick the menu and the tables it applies to.
- Save.
Organising what customers see
Menu › Menu Organizer lets you drag and drop menus, categories and items into the order you want them shown. Selecting a menu or category filters the item list so you can focus.
The order you set here is the order guests see on the QR menu and staff see on the POS. Put your best sellers where a thumb lands first.
Deleting a menu
Deleting a menu is not something to do casually — it takes its structure with it. If you're retiring a seasonal menu you may want to keep it and simply stop using it.
Good to know
- Menu names are visible to customers on your ordering site. "Lunch" is fine; "menu v2 FINAL" is not.
- Each branch has its own menus.
